Morton’s of North Miami Beach

Morton’s is a high-class restaurant with prices to match.

We called ahead and notified the staff of the gluten allergy before coming in. We were greeted and queried that we did indeed have a gluten allergy in the party when we arrived. After the menu presentation the backup waiter had come back from the kitchen and started listing off the items without sugar. I thought for a second that we might have to leave. They were quickly redeemed when the maitre’d and our primary waiter came over and listed off what I could have when we were educating the backup waiter about gluten. The only education I had to give to the maitre’d was the blue cheese itself is traditionally made from bread. He knew every ingredient otherwise.

After a bit of the standard straining to think of what -can- be had the staff found two options for dessert. The standard celiac dessert fruit was one. The other was crèm brulee, which was excellent by the way.

If money were no object, I would definitely visit again. Likewise, I would visit for an important business meeting.

The presentation from every course was excellent. A gluten intolerance forces me to ask to be catered to. This restaurant did the job wonderfully and with a good attitude.
